CFP® Exam: Scholarship and Discount

Scholarship

To ensure more consumers have access to competent and ethical financial planning services, XYPN’s CFP® Exam Scholarship Program will fully cover the CFP Certification Examination fee for ten recipients each CFP® Exam cycle. There are two types of scholarships offered in this program:

• XYPN CFP® Exam Scholarship (XYPN Members Only)
• XYPN Diversity CFP® Exam Scholarship (Open to XYPN Members AND Non-Members)

Recipients of the XYPN CFP® Exam Scholarship and the XYPN Diversity CFP® Exam Scholarship will have 12 months, from the date credit is placed on their CFP account, to register for the CFP exam. After 12 months the credit will be removed from your CFP account and returned to XYPN for future scholarship recipients.

CFP® Exam Discount

If you are not interested in applying for a scholarship or are not awarded one, XYPN members can receive $200 off the exam price using the XYPN discount code.

When registering for the CFP® exam, you will see the discount code field on the checkout screen. Please note that there is a unique discount code for each exam cycle. Please also be sure to confirm that the email associated with your CFP® Board account matches the one on file for your XYPN Membership. 

FAQs

Oops! I forgot the code. What if I’ve already registered and paid for my exam spot? 

• Unfortunately, we cannot assist you in receiving a refund as registration must be completed using the discount code. We encourage you to contact the CFP Board to request a partial refund.

I cannot sit for this round of the exam and would prefer to defer to the next. What should I do?

• We’re glad to hear that you’ll pursue your credentials in the future! You’re responsible for contacting the CFP Board to defer your registration.

I know a non-member interested in taking the exam. Can they use the code?

• While we encourage everyone to review their applicability for a scholarship, the discount code is for XYPN members only and does not apply to firm employees, interns, etc.

Help! I’m having trouble applying the discount code.

• First, double-check that the email associated with your CFP® Board account matches the one on file for your XYPN Membership.
