That said, we’ve heard some common questions and confusion about how the Gusto discount works, who’s eligible, and how to keep it active. This article will walk you through what you need to know so you can make the most of your benefit without hiccups.

Understanding the 20% Discount

Here’s what you need to know about the Gusto discount through XYPN:

  • It’s an ongoing 20% discount (not a one-time deal)
  • There’s no expiration date—as long as your setup stays eligible, the discount continues
  • It only applies to new Gusto users—if you signed up for Gusto before joining XYPN or didn’t use the correct link, the discount won’t apply retroactively

Common Confusion: Why Isn’t My Discount Working?

The most common reason members miss out on the Gusto discount is related to how the account is set up. Here are some tips to ensure your discount is correctly applied:

Keep XYPN Listed as an Admin

In order for Gusto to recognize the partnership and apply the discount, XYPN must be listed as an admin on your Gusto account.

  • If XYPN is removed as an admin, Gusto automatically removes the discount
  • We recommend making XYPN the primary admin—not your bookkeeper or another third party—to avoid billing and access issues

Already Have Gusto?

Unfortunately, the discount cannot be applied retroactively. If you were already using Gusto before connecting through XYPN, your account won’t be eligible for the discount.

Want to Remove XYPN as Admin?

You can do this at any time by removing the XYPN admin account. Just know that this will automatically unlink your account from the XYPN partnership, and you’ll lose the discount going forward.
