Find an Advisor Portal

Our Find An Advisor Portal is a member benefit that allows consumers to find fee-only financial planners and CFPs like you. This search tool is a unique system that helps promote your firm and expose your niche to the financial planning world. Consumers search this webpage daily to find advisors in their geographical area whose services match their needs!

Signing Up

To qualify for a profile, you must:

1. Be a CFP®
2. Have a registered firm or be an employee at a registered firm
3. Be fee-only at this moment in time

If you meet all of the above, great! You can complete and publish your profile here!

Editing your Profile

You can access Profile Settings to edit your profile at any time! Please follow these steps to edit your profile:

1. Navigate to your XYPN Portal.
2. Click on Profile.
3. Toggle over the Advisor Details section.
4. Edit Advisor Details.
5. Click "Save Advisor Details" at the bottom of the page.
6. Then, toggle over to the Find an Advisor section of your profile.
7. Click "Enable Find an Advisor" to turn profile on.
8. Your edits will show up immediately on the public facing Find an Advisor Portal!

Closing your Profile

If you wish to have your profile removed from our Find an Advisor page, please unpublish your profile via the profile settings of your XYPN Portal by following these steps:

1. Navigate to your XYPN Portal.
2. Click on Profile.
3. Toggle over the Advisor Details section.
4. Fill out the Advisor Details.
5. Click "Save Advisor Details" at the bottom of the page.
6. Then, toggle over to the Find an Advisor section of your profile.
7. Click "Enable Find an Advisor" to turn profile off.
8. Voila! Your Find an Advisor profile will be deactivated. You can come back and activate at any time!

FAQs

Can other CFP's at my firm create their own Find and Advisor profile?

If your firm has multiple CFP®s who are each XYPN members, you can each have your profile on our Find an Advisor page. Each additional user can create a profile via the profile settings of their XYPN Portal. Please note: you must be an XYPN member to have your own profile!

Do I have to have a profile featured on the Find an Advisor page if I don't want to?

Absolutely not! Even if you are a CFP®, being featured on our Find an Advisor page is not required. You can opt-in or opt-out at your discretion. 

XYPN doesn't have the niche or designation that I want. What should I do?

While we encourage our members to be niche-specific, we realize that many niches don't fall into the categories we have provided on our Find an Advisor page. We created these categories with industry trends in mind. However, some members need tailored niches and designations for their consumers and businesses. If you want to request a niche or designation that doesn't fall into the categories we have provided, please email membership@xyplanningnetwork.com so we can consider making adjustments. 

How does the Find an Advisor search work?

The Find an Advisor page randomizes the profiles shown on the home page for each new visitor. If any filters are applied, the search will show a new random order for profiles in that subset. This is by design to encourage visitors to engage with the search that are relevant to them and to ensure equity among the profiles.

My Find an Advisor profile got spammed, what do I do?

We hate to see spam and are so sorry it landed in your inbox. We take spam prevention on the Find an Advisor search seriously, and the site utilizes Google reCaptcha, a best-in-class spam prevention tool. Unfortunately, even the best tools can't capture all spam, especially when an actual human submits it.  Please continue to let us know if you receive spam submissions like this! At this time, successful spam submissions on Find an Advisor are exceptionally low. If that begins to change, our team will explore more aggressive spam prevention measures.

Can you share metrics about my Find an Advisor profile?

Currently, the metrics you're requesting are not available on an individual member basis. However, the following information may be helpful in determining which areas to focus on for online marketing optimization.
